TurnWord™ Advanced Finder is a position-precise five-letter word search tool.
Enter letters into the word row, set each tile to green, yellow, or gray to reflect what your puzzle has told you,
and tap Search
to see results instantly.
Use the Present and Absent fields to add letter constraints that aren't tied to a specific position.
The more constraints you enter, the sharper and more useful the results become.
The Word Row
The word row is the primary input. Type up to five letters — one per slot — and tap each tile to set its constraint state. Each tap cycles the tile through three states:C
Green — Correct: Right letter, right position. Keep it there.
P
Yellow — Present: Right letter, wrong position. Move it next guess.
A
Gray — Absent: Letter not in word.
You don't need to fill all five slots.
Enter as few or as many letters as you have information for — then tap Search
to update the results.
Present Field
Type letters you know are somewhere in the word but haven't placed in a specific position. These letters will be required to appear in every result, regardless of where. Use this for letters from yellow tiles across multiple guesses, or letters you've confirmed through other means.Absent Field
Type letters you've ruled out entirely — they will be excluded from every result. This corresponds to gray tiles in your puzzle. You can also enter these directly in the word row as gray tiles; both methods produce the same result. Results
Results update when you tap Search Advanced Finder, Quick Finder, and Word Solver are all powerful companions to these daily games, each helping you solve in a different way.
Pagination
When there are more results than fit on one page, use the previous and next controls to navigate. Narrowing your constraints is often more effective than paging through a long list.Search

Tap Reset Tips and Strategy
- Mirror your puzzle's feedback exactly — one incorrect tile color can send the results in the wrong direction
- Use green tiles to lock strong letters. Even a single confirmed position eliminates a large portion of the word list
- Use yellow tiles carefully — they carry two facts at once: the letter is present, and it is not in the position you placed it. Both constraints apply to results
- Use the Present field for letters confirmed across multiple guesses that you haven't locked to a position yet
- Combine the word row and the Present and Absent fields freely — all constraints apply simultaneously
- If you know where letters go — or don't — Advanced Finder will outperform Quick Finder every time. The more positional information you have, the more precise the results.
- Tap a result's Definition
to learn more before deciding whether to play it. Tap again to load it into the word row and refine your search from there.
You know where some letters go.
You know others don't belong. TurnWord™ Advanced Finder turns that into a precise, ranked word list the moment you enter it — position by position, no guessing required.
Quick Finder finds words by letters alone. Advanced Finder goes further — pin a green letter to its exact slot, push a yellow one away from the position it can't be,
and rule out every gray letter entirely. The more you know, the sharper the results.
Sound Familiar?
"I have a green tile and want words with that letter in that exact spot"
Set it green in the word row — Advanced Finder filters to words with that letter locked in position
"I got a yellow tile and know the letter can't go in that position"
Set it yellow — Advanced Finder finds words containing the letter but excludes that position
"I've stacked up green, yellow, and gray tiles and need something that fits all of them at once"
Advanced Finder applies every constraint simultaneously. Enter what you know and tap Search
to filter the list
"I know several letters are in the word but I haven't placed them yet"
Type them into the Present field — they'll be required in the results without locking to a position
